Asian Markets Slide As Iran Closes Strait Of Hormuz, Brent Crude Jumps 2% To $97 Per Barrel
Asian equity indices came under pressure on Thursday after Iran accused the US of violating the two-week ceasefire and closed the Strait of Hormuz less than 24 hours after the deal. Brent crude oil futures rose nearly 2 percent to around 97 dollars per barrel amid supply concerns. South Korea’s Kospi declined the most, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Topix fell 0.5-0.8 percent.
