Butte County Sheriff's Office arrests Paradise man for armed robbery at business in Chico

CHICO, Calif. - A Paradise man was taken into custody by the Butte County Sheriff's Office on Friday in connection to an armed robbery at a business in Chico.Authorities say that at around 4:59 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a business on Entler Avenue in Chico after receiving a 9-1-1 call reporting a armed robbery that had taken place.Upon arrival at the scene, deputies made contact with the robbery victim. The victim told deputies that a male had entered the business, pulled out a firearm, stole cash and other items, and them took off in a vehicle.The Butte County Sheriff's Office says that deputies began searching the immediate area for the robbery suspect. With the assistance of a witness, deputies were able to track the suspect, who had jumped a fence and was running through backyards.The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Adam Peterson from Paradise, was eventually found by law enforcement hiding inside of a unoccupied metal trailer and was arrested without incident.Peterson was transported to and booked into the Butte County Jail on the following charges:RobberyUse of a firearm in the commission of a felonyFelony vandalismAuthorities say that K9 Chico from the Butte County Sheriff's Office provided assistance in the search and apprehension of Peterson along with assisting in locating critical evidence.K9 Maverick for the Department of Fish & Wildlife assisted authorities with the search for evidence and helped locating the stolen money. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1514992'); });
