EGX indices up at end of Wednesday trading session

Bourse indices posted collective gains at the close of on Wednesday’s trading session, driven by buying operations by local, Arab and foreign institutions and investment funds, as well as foreign individual investors, while Arab and Egyptian retail investors tended toward selling. The session is the last one before the holy month of Ramadan. Market capitalization of listed companies added about EGP 30 billion to reach EGP 3.394 trillion by the end of trading, amid total transactions of around EGP 60.1 billion, including bond and treasury bill deals and ownership transfer transactions. Equity market trading alone stood at about EGP 8.4 billion. The benchmark EGX 30 index rose by 0.75 percent to reach 52,222.34 points. The EGX 70 index for small- and medium-cap stocks increased by 0.93 percent to record 13,114.91 points. The broader EGX 100 index also advanced by 1.14 percent to close at 18,339.7 points. MENA
