ETF Monthly: April 2026 - S&P 500 and Bitcoin to outperform in May
Review of asset classes performance in April - It was a mixed performance for the ETFs. The top gainer was the ETF tracking Bitcoin (BITO), which surged 12.5%. On the other hand, the top loser was the ETF tracking Oil (XOP), which fell 1.9%. For their current trends, the S&P 500 and Oil are in an uptrend. Meanwhile, US Treasury Bonds, Gold, Bitcoin, Singapore Equities and the Hang Seng Index are in a range consolidation. Heading into May, we expect the ETFs tracking the S&P 500 and Bitcoin to extend their gains. The ETFs tracking US Treasury Bonds, Oil, Singapore Equities, and the Hang Seng Index are expected to consolidate sideways. On the other hand, the ETF tracking Gold is likely to extend its weakness.
