For retail investors, monitoring where Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) allocate their funds can provide valuable market insights, as FIIs typically invest only after thorough research and with strong conviction. So far, around 50 BSE midcap companies have disclosed their shareholding data for the March quarter. An analysis of these stocks shows that nine companies witnessed an increase in ownership by both FIIs and retail investors (defined as individual shareholders holding up to Rs 2 lakh in nominal share capital) compared to the previous quarter. However, in terms of performance in CY26 to date, seven of these stocks have delivered negative returns, declining by as much as 27% during this period. (Data Source: ACE Equity) Midcap Flow
