
Indian equity markets closed with marginal gains on July 16 as cautious sentiment prevailed. Sensex gained 76.10 points (+0.10%) to 77,185.43 while Nifty 50 added just 2.95 points (+0.01%) to 24,078.50. Market breadth remained negative with 2,391 stocks declining against 2,236 advancing out of 4,627 traded. Printing & Stationery led sectoral gains (+2.74%), followed by Petroleum Products (+1.51%). Automobile & Auto Components faced steep decline (-3.49%), while Diamond & Jewellery and Insurance sectors also witnessed selling pressure. Acme Solar Holdings buzzed after its subsidiary commissioned a 110.336 MWh BESS project in Rajasthan.
