Sensex Today | Stock Market Live: Indian benchmark indices traded largely flat with a negative bias on Wednesday afternoon as weakness in IT, consumer durables, FMCG and infrastructure offset strong gains in banking and metal stocks. At 2:23 pm, the Sensex was down 33.01 points, or 0.04 percent, at 77,623.08, while the Nifty fell 55.40 points, or 0.23 percent, to 24,279.15. IT was the biggest sectoral laggard, falling 1.26 percent, while consumer durables, FMCG and infrastructure declined around 0.8 percent each. Private banks gained 1.15 percent, PSU banks rose 0.91 percent and metals advanced 0.77 percent. Broader markets outperformed, with smallcaps up 0.86 percent, while market breadth remained positive with 2,174 shares advancing against 1,716 declines.
