
Stock Market LIVE: GIFT Nifty futures were trading lower by 68.50 points or 0.27 per cent, indicating a flat opening for benchmark indices Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Friday, September 12. Overnight, US stocks closed int he green with tech heavyweight Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 hitting fresh highs in intraday trades. Dow Jones closed with thin gains of 49.23 points or 0.11 per cent at 45,883.45. Meanwhile, Asian stocks hit record highs in early session amid growing optimism of a rate cut by the Fed later this week. Nikkei 225 touched a fresh high of 45,055.38 while Hang Seng Index hit a new 52-week high of 26,601.59. During the previous trading session, the Nifty 50 index snapped the 8-day winning streak and closed in negative territory -- down by around 45 points or 0.13 per cent at 25,069. The BSE Sensex snapped its five-day rally to settle 118.96 points or 0.15 per cent lower at 81,785.74.
