Thailand will begin listing spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs on the Stock Exchange of Thailand starting October 16 under a new regulatory framework. The rules require passive fund management with at least 80% exposure to one digital asset and custody by SEC-supervised providers, aiming to protect investors and control risks. Margin loans for ETF purchases are prohibited, and retail investors cannot access overseas digital asset ETFs through local brokers. This cautious rollout prioritizes investor protection and infrastructure readiness, positioning Thailand alongside other Asian markets with regulated digital asset products.
