Vanguard ends BlackRock's 20-year run atop US ETF market
Vanguard Group has overtaken BlackRock as the largest US exchange-traded fund issuer, managing about $4.39 trillion in assets across its US-listed ETFs compared with BlackRock’s $4.36 trillion. Strong inflows into Vanguard’s low-cost index funds, including the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO), helped the firm secure the top position in the $15.2 trillion US ETF market after BlackRock held the lead for more than two decades.
